Bars drive most of what moves in liqueur, and the 16 articles here reflect that: Cointreau, Drambuie, Galliano Vanilla, Licor 43 Baristo, Galatti Amaretto, Cabo Bay Edelkirsch, Aperol and Sourz. Some of it is cocktail infrastructure that a venue reorders whether or not it sells the bottle straight, and some is straightforward off-trade gifting stock. That means two channels buy the same list for different reasons: cash and carry and food service distributors supplying bars and restaurants, and grocery, discount and travel retail selling to consumers. Bottle sizes run 0.5l, 0.7l and 1l, with the smaller format usually carrying the flavoured and seasonal variants and the litre reserved for the lines a bar gets through. A liqueur pallet is therefore rarely uniform, and mixed cases of slower cocktail lines beside faster sellers are the normal way to buy it.
