Sparkling wine carries 39 articles and stretches further across price than any other wine type here: Freixenet Cava in Carta Nevada Dry, Medium Dry, Rosé and Cordon Negro Brut, Frissé Frizzante and Manfredi at the everyday end, JP. Chenet and Brut Dargent in the middle, Henkell Sekt and Sandara alongside, and Moet & Chandon and Alice Bardot Champagne at the top. It is a promotional and occasion category: grocery and discount build displays for the fourth quarter and New Year, event caterers and hotels buy by the pallet for functions, and travel retail takes the recognised names year-round. Bottles are 0.75l, but sparkling stock is less forgiving than still wine on a pallet and wants a proper build and full-pallet handling rather than loose case picking. Ordering for a Q4 promotion sensibly runs from late summer. Full pallets and full truck loads ship worldwide from Belgium, with EUR.1 and certificates of origin prepared in house.
